Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mark (Anne) Ross of Woodstock, a sister, Edna Swartz of Rhinebeck; four brothers, Charles Sackett of Tillson, Ulster County, Joseph Sackett of Front Royal, Va , Frederick Sackett of Lake Worth, Fla., and James Sackett of Florida; an aunt. May Simone of Poughkeepsie; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will begin at 11 am. April 1 at Christ's Church in Woodstock. Burial will follow in the Woodstock Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lasher Funeral Home, 100 Tinker St , Woodstock”.5

“NEWBURGH - Edna Mae Swartz, 88, a long-time resident of Rhinebeck, NY passed away on August 5, 2014 at Elant Nursing Home in Newburgh, NY.
Born on January 20, 1926 in the Washington area of NY, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin J. Sackett and Ruth Millie (Spencer) Sackett.
Edna worked as a meat wrapper for many years for the A&P in Poughkeepsie and Florida and later for the IGA in Rhinebeck, NY. Edna is pre-deceased by her husband, James Franklin Swartz Sr.; her son, James Franklin "Jimmer" Swartz Jr.; her brother, Benjamin Sackett; her brother, James "Jimmy" Sackett; her brother, Fred Sackett; and her sister, Anna (Sackett) Elliott.
Edna was a wonderful woman who was loved dearly by her family. She was a hard worker all her life, and when she wasn't working, she loved to cook and bake for her family, knit and crochet, was an avid Bingo player and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Hyde Park, NY.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Merlena Oles of Gardiner, NY; her brother, Joseph Sackett of Front Royal, VA; her brother, Charles Sackett of Tilson, NY; her grandson, Chris Oles of Waxhaw, NC; her grandson, Ralph Oles of Gardiner, NY; her granddaughter, Tammy Durant of Rhinebeck, NY; her granddaughter, Jennifer Lawrence of Columbus, NC; her granddaughter, Stacey (Swartz) White; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A period of visitation will be held from 10 to 11 am, Saturday, August 9th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park. A memorial service will follow at 11 am with Rev. Xavier Santiago officiating. Her family respectfully requests contributions in Edna's memory are made to the Elant Foundation, 46 Harriman Dr., Goshen, NY 10924. Her obituary in the Millbrook Round Table was as follows: "The funeral of Mrs Mary Winters, wife of Thomas Winters of Shunpike was held Aug 15 at St Joseph's Church. Mrs Winters underwent a very serious operation for cancer on Thursday last at St Francis hospital, and up until the day of her death, everything seemed very satisfactory. She died about 5:30 pm on Saturday, Aug 12, after having two sinking spells that day. She leaves a host of relatives and friends to mourn her loss."3,4,5,2
