Strong

The Strong Family Line

The origins of our Strong families were in Queen's County, Ireland, now County Laois.

John STRONG is the earliest known ancestor for this branch. He was enumerated at Shanbeg, Rosenallis in the Tithe Applotment Book of 1823. Nothing is known of either his birth or death, but the William Strong who was recorded at Shanbeg in the Griffith's Valuation of 1850 is assumed to be his son.

The names of specific persons in this Family Line can be found in the Surname Index.

Other Related Families: The Strong family is related to the Meredith family through the marriage of Rebecca Strong, the granddaughter of John Strong, to Thomas Meredith (1828-1915).
