Nothing more is known about these 3 children, who appeared not to have emigrated with Thomas and perhaps died young. He emigrated circa 1850 to USA; it is assumed that he emigrated at the same time as his sons Henry and Thomas.
He appeared on the census of 11 July 1870 in Wataga, Knox Co., Illinois, USA, in which he was described as Thomas Barrer, a white male aged 55, a Farmer, a US citizen born in Ireland, with real estate valued at $500 and personal possessions valued $300. He was enumerated with Hanora (wife aged 30), Mary A. (daughter aged 17), Robert (son aged 12), Catherine (daughter aged 8), Joseph (son aged 7) and Michael (son aged 1).
He appeared on the census of 3 June 1880 in Copley, Knox Co., Illinois, USA, in which he was described as Thomas Barrer, a white male aged 70, a farmer, born in Ireland, with both parents born in Ireland. He was enumerated with Hanora (wife aged 40), Robert (son aged 21), Catharine (daughter aged 17), Joseph (son aged 15) and Michael (son aged 10).
