She was recorded on the census of April 1911 in 44 Haddington Road, Dublin, Ireland, and was described as “Jane Winters, head of family, Church of Ireland, able to read & write, aged 46, female, widow, 4 children with 3 still living, born in Co. Tipperary”. She was enumerated with her son George Henry (aged 12) and two others (Thomas Jackson and Edward John Young). The house was described as 1st class, having walls of stone, brick or concrete, a roof of slate, iron or tiles, with 7, 8 or 9 rooms and 6 windows in front. 9 rooms were occupied.

Administration of her estate was granted to her daughter Margaret Susan Winters on 10 March 1919.^3,5,6

Peter was a schoolmaster, and the son of John Keegan, a Scripture Reader. He was enumerated in the 1901 census at Windgate, Delgany, Co. Wicklow, and described as a school master, aged 68. Enumerated in the same household were his wife Eliza (aged 67), daughter Margaret A. (44) and granddaughters Eva (18) and Alice (6). There is some doubt about his county of birth; according to the 1901 census it was Co. Cavan and not Co. Donegal.^1,6,7
