Rice Meredith
M, #11535, b. about 1738, d. July 1817
Parents
Biography
- Birth: About 1738; Ireland
- Marriage: 1759; Mary Hornby; Diocese of Ossory, Ferns & Leighlin
- Death: July 1817; Queen's County, Ireland
- Burial: 11 July 1817; St. Bridgid's, Rosenallis
- Note: Lived at Reary Valley; probably the Rice Meredith listed in the Queen’s County Poll Books of 1760 and 1779.
There are two death records for Rice Meredith of Reary Valley that could refer to the Rice who was married to Mary Hornby: one dated 1801 (source: Betham abstracts) and the other a burial record for Rice buried 11 July 1817, age 79, at St. Brigid's Church, Rosenallis. Personally, I wonder if the will was written in 1801 but was for the Rice who died in 1817?? Seems unlikely, but. . .
- Note: Mary Hornby; Marriage Settlement registered 16 Jan 1759 (V 216, p 49, #141520, extracted by kw). IFHF website shows marriage taking place in Kilkenny .
