From the latter place, the Battalion crossed Lake Ontario in August 1783 under Major Gray to rebuild Fort Frontenac, now Kingston [Ontario], and to prepare for Loyalist settlements.Some of the 2nd Battalion, including David, John, George and his two sons, went to join their wives and children who were housed at Pointe Claire near Montreal, but the main portion of the 2nd Battalion settled in Fredericksburg."

Note: Age 70 and a widower in 1911. Lived in house number 1 in Dicksgrove (Killeentierna, Kerry). Poor Law Union was Killarney, so probably the Richard who died in 1912, age 71. There were several children in that district who died from the mid 1870s to 1890s and who do not appear in the census records. Richard and his sons are listed as Church of Ireland. His wife and daughters were Roman Catholic.
