• Note: When her parents died, their daughter, Vera McAulay was the informant. An ancestry search for Vera McAulay revealed a 2004 Penticton obituary for her sister-in-law, Alvina McAualay of Kelowna, BC, listing in-laws Jack and Vera McAulay among those who had predeceased her. City Directories indicate Vera's husband was John D. McAulay, "prof" in SOCof E" or "Sou Coll" from 1951 to 1958. 1955.

  Joined SOC in 1948; BA from U of Alberta; MA from UBC; and EdD Stanford University, California.
  Possibly/probably the following from Washington state death records: John D. McAulay, died 20 June 1977, Skagit, resident of Bellingham, Washington. That John is in SSDI born 13 December 1917. The 1930 census for Bellingham shows John D. Jr, age 12, born Washington, son of John D (born Canada) and Rachel McAulay.

  World War I Draft reg'n card dated June 1917 (image on ancestry.com):
  birth date, address 193 Danforth, Portland; James was a law student at the U. of Maine in Bangor; he claimed an exemption from service on the basis of disability; he was said to be short, of medium stature with blue eyes and brown hair.
  Ceensus records show James single and living with his parents until 1930, occupation in 1920 and 1930 general practice lawyer; not found in 1940.

• Note: From 1900 to 1920 Robert lived with his uncle and aunt, Thomas and Thonasina DeWolfe. Like his cousin James, he was a general practice lawyer. He registered for the military at the age of 33. He reported his occupation was lawyer, his next of kin his uncle, Thomas E. DeWolfe of 193 Danforth in Portland. He was described as short and slender wth blue eyes and brown hair.

Her occupation was stenographer in a law office. The 1900 census further shows her parents were Alphonso (35) and Katie A (31). Doris had a twin brother, Dana. There were 3 oldeer children. Death date for Doris G. DeWolfe from SSDI.

• Note: I'm a bit confused about Eleanor's husband or husbands. There is a 1923 marriage registration for Carl Pierce, but cannot connect either Carl or Eleanor to any 1930 census listings. Moreover, the 1940 census shows Estelle in the Massachusetts household of her daughter-in-law, Eleanor R. Ludcke. Eleanor's husband's first name was Gipp, he was born in Minnesota and was 34. (1910 census shows Gipp Ludcke in St Peter, Minnesota, age 9). Eleanor and Gipp had a daughter Constance, age 7.

• Note: In 1920 Louise and Dorothy were living with her sister (Delia) and brother-in-law Portland; Louise was married, employed as a sales lady in a department store. Both Lousie and Delia were said to have immigrated from Canada in 1904. In 1930 Louise was still said to be married, but is shown as head of the household (William listed with his mother that year). Her first marriage said to have been in 1902--perhaps William was a second marriage? In 1930 Louise was a cashier in a department store.

• Note: Marriage reg'n indicates Louisa was aged 21, the daughter of "Susie Clark" and was born in St. John, New Brunswick. I cannot confirm any Canadian records either through New Brunswick or other sources. In 1910 Benjamin was a widower and living with his mother. There was also a widow, Susan Dean, born Ireland, age 60 as a servant in the household. I wonder if Susan was "Susie Clark", mother of Louisa?
