- Note: 1913 marriage notice for son Thomas indicates Richard was deceased and had lived in Dysart Enos, Stradbally, Queen's county, Ireland. 1901 census for Ireland shows Richard a farmer age 64, in Dysart, Kilcolmanbane parish, Queen's county. Only death registration that fits is for Richard Claxton, death registered first quarter 1908, Mountmellick District, age 70. In 1911 Thomas was head of the household in Ballylinan, which also included his sister Frances.
Possible marriages: Mountmellick district, 1866 or Abbeyleix district, 1858 or 1875.

1841 census James was unmarried, age 20, occupation Saddler, living with family of his elder brother, Michael.
1871 England Census, age 50, Fishmonger, resident of St James Parish, Westminster. Three nieces in the household: Ellen and Emma Connell, ages 22 and 16, both fishmonger assistants and born Middlesex county, England; and Isabella McCarty age 16, pianist, born Cork, Ireland.

Probate index from ancestry.com gives death date of 26 July 1873, age 53. Record of probate reveals that he must have had a brother, Michael, who became guardian of daughter Isabella (who would have been about 10 years old when her father died): ". . . Michael Heagarty of 2 Sheldon street Paddington in the county of Middlesex Tailor the Uncle and Guardian of Isabella Heagarty Spinster a Minor the Daughter and only Next of Kin." James left an estate valued at £3000.
A further record 1884 revealed that James's widow had not completed the administration of his estate, and it was granted to their daughter Isabella. Previous administration notices were dated September 1873 and March 1875.

Died at 23 St Martin's Road, Stockwell, Surrey. Administration of her estate granted to her niece, Ellen Connell of the same address.

Also in the household was another cousin Philip W. McCarty, age 37, Clerk, born Cork. In 1891 Isabella was the head of a household that also included unmarried cousins Ellen McCarty (nee Connell, married Philip Winspeare McCarty), 45 and Ethel M. McConnell, 8, both born London. In 1901 Ellen McCarthy is said to be a widow, and a visitor to the household was Mary A. Connell, 59, born Cork Ireland, occupation saleswoman, china. In 1911 Isabella is 48, Ellen 64.
Probate record: late of 29 St Martin's Road, Stockwell, Surrey; probate granted to Westminster Bank Ltd. and Connie Mabel Bevis, married woman.
