James Maurice Vanston
M, #13138, d. 1 March 1884
Parents
Biography
- Christening: 26 September 1803; Maryborough Parish Register, Queen's county
- Death: 1 March 1884; Queen's county, Ireland
- Note: We had previously assumed that James was a brother of Margaret as he was a witness at her marriage and both were residents of Maryborough. Further support from baptism records extracted by KK, March 2009, as well as notice re: confirmation 1 May 1822, RCBL, Dublin.
There was a James Vanston listed in the Griffiths Valuation at Church Lane, Maryborough, and also at Clonminam in the parish (probably all these are the same James); there was also a James Vanston in Beladd townland, Straboe parish in Queen's county.
Website with genealogy of James Maurice (and a couple of known errors) was at: . This site is now offline but I have retrieved it through a web archiving service (October 2010).
Marriage certif. for daughter Elizabeth indicates that James was a merchant.
Death registered 1st qtr, 1884, Mountmellick District. Death notice in Nenagh Guardian, 8 March 1884, p. 3:
"DEATH. March 1, at Church-street, Maryborough, James Maurice Vanston, aged 80 years."
- Note: Jane Clarke; Unfortunately, the fathers of this couple were not named in the register. The witnesses were William Clarke and a Frances whose last name was not legible.

The walls are constructed of a brick exterior with a brick framework. The exterior of the building is unique with various details including a decorative brick belt, pilasters, columns, and carvings. The windows are high lighted with decorative sills, surrounds, and voussoirs to give this building a personality all its own. Elizabeth Flanagan
F, #13146, b. May 1857, d. 9 October 1902
Parents
Biography
- Marriage: 4 June 1876; Thomas Meredith; Rathgar Catholic Church, Dublin, Ireland
- Death: 9 October 1902; Brooklyn, New York
- Burial: 12 October 1902; Holy Cross Cemetery, New York
- Note: In 1900 Elizabeth had given birth to 11 children, 8 of whom were still living. Only 7 were living with Thomas and Elizabeth for that census, suggesting one had already left home. That would have been Catherine/Kate, who had married by then. I have names of ten children, two of whom were named Thomas Joseph, suggesting we probably have the names of all those still living in 1900.
Burial record gives her age at death as 45.
Death reg'n give her home address as 458 Belmont Ave., Brooklyn, age 45:
