• Note: Elizabeth signed her name with an X in the marriage register, although the 1901 census indicates she could read and write (unless I have the wrong people somehow?). In 1901 Thomas and Lizzie Meredith, age 48, lived on Coote Street in Maryborough. She lived in Redcastle at the time of her marriage. I could not find a listing that fits in 1911.

• Note: Charles was a farm labourer living on Cathole Road, Ballyfin, at the time of his marriage. His birth date was recorded as 12 July 1912 in the marriage register. The birth registration appears to be July "fourtenth," the baptism register says the 14th.

Sarah Furlong

• Note: Believed to be the Sarah Furlong whose birth was registered 1st qtr 1881, Mountmellick District, born 19 February 1881. Father was John of Tinnehinch.
  The 1911 census shows a Sarah Furlong, aged 29 living in Clonaslee parish with an unmarried uncle, Edward Furlong (farmer, age 72). The household also had several other nieces and nephews of Edward: Arthur 36 (probably the Arthur who married Marian Meredith), Elizabeth 34, Mary Jane 27 and William 22.
  Death notice in the Time Pictorial, 29 Nov. 1947: died suddenly at Coonbeg, Ballylinan; residence was Meelick House, Rosenallis. Buried in Ballyfin cemetery: Sarah Meredith, died Nov. 18, 1947, aged 66 years; death registered 4th qtr, Mountmellick District.
• Note: Jeremiah W. Meredith; Marriage registered 2nd quarter 1911, Mountmellick District. Marriage notice in the Weekly Irish Times, 1 July 1911: names Jeremiah as the second son of Jeremiah of Meelick, Rosenallis and Sarah as the fourth daughter of John Furlong of Tinnahinch, Clonaslee.

• Note: 10 Sep 1928: Probate of the Will of John otherwise John Thomas Meredith late of The Oaks Mountmellick Queen’s County Farmer who died 19 Sep 1927 granted at Kilkenny to Jeremiah Meredith farmer. Effects £2,590-8s-2d (Calendars of Wills & Admons - National Archives of Ireland - kw). John's age on the 1901 census was said to be 38, which would suggest a birth year of 1863. His wife was much younger, which may have led him to "adjust" his age somewhat on the census? They may have recently married as there were no children. He was a farmer living in Omoresforest (The Oak).

However, so far we have been unable to find any documentation to support that Jeremiah ever had a wife name Susan. Baptism records for John Thomas and Marian identify their mother as Mary Anne.
