Clifford Henry Kelly, Sask. Wheat Pool Grain Inspector, Dies.
Clifford Henry .Kelly, 65, of 46 Blenheim avenue, St. Vital, died Monday in Winnipeg General hospital. Born in Mallorytown, Ont., he had been in Winnipeg 18 years. He was a grain inspector for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for 27 years and was a member of Fidelty Masonic lodge. Surviving are his wife Annette, two sons Clark and Clifford, two brothers Arthur and Ernest and three sisters, Mrs. J. T. Weeks, Mrs. J. D. Campbell and Mrs. D. Andres. Funeral service will be held at 2.15 p.m. Thursday in Clark Leatherdale funeral home. - Note: Edward Reilly/O'Reilly farmed Lot 7, Third Concession of Fitzroy Township, Carleton County, before moving to Bromley Twp., according to Carol McCuaig. He purchased the east half of Lot 14, Third Concession Bromley in August 1850. The cemetery record indicates that Ed was born in County Cavan and that he was 55 years old at the time of his death. In 1861 his widow Julia was living with their son Daniel.
Most of the records for the Reilly/O'Reilly family are based on census data and the book "The Founding Families of Bromley Township." All of these dates should be considered to be estimates only, and require more reliable documentation. Some death dates have been obtained from the dates on which land transfers occured. The spelling of the last name varies from census to census and on the land records. Name on tombstone is "Ed O'Reilly."
