Mary Hagarty
F, #18561, b. before 1803, d. 1829
Parents
Biography
- Birth: Before 1803; Ireland
- Marriage: 30 January 1823; George Hewitt; St Finbarr's Church, Cork city, Ireland
- Burial: 4 March 1829; St Fachtna's Cathedral, Ross Parish, County Cork
- Note: DNA results suggest Mary was a sister (or cousin?) of Adam and/or James, who like Mary, were also of Woodfield when they married in St Finbarre's Church in Cork city. Both the tithes and the Griffiths show Marmaduke as resident of Woodfield, so he is probably another brother.
Parents not named, but in 1796 a James Heagerty is shown on the Flax Growers' List and he could well be the father. May's burial record St Fachtna's Cathedral, Ross Parish: Mrs. Mary Hewitt, wife of George Hewitt, buried 4 March 1829.
- Note: George Hewitt; Marriage for Adam Hagarty the same date and church suggests they may have been brother and sister?

James Hagarty

Parents
Biography
- Birth: Before 1804; Ireland
- Marriage: 5 March 1825; Ellen Howell; St Finbarr's Church, Cork city, Ireland
- Note: James was a farmer in Woodfield when he married. Could be a brother (or cousin?) of Adam and Mary, who like James, were also of Woodfield when they married in St Finbarre's Church in Cork city. Parents not named for any of them. I have not been able to find any later record of this couple--don't know where they lived after they married, whether in Ireland or elsewhere?
- Note: Ellen Howell; Record from parish register

George Hewitt
M, #18563, b. before 1802
Biography
- Birth: Before 1802; Ireland
- Marriage: 30 January 1823; Mary Hagarty; St Finbarr's Church, Cork city, Ireland
- Note: Marriage record shows George was a shopkeeper from Ross Carberry when he married, and again in 1849 when his daughter Catharine married. Possibly the George Hewett, son of Thomas and Elizabeth of Burgesia [Burgatia], baptised Ross parish 14 December 1799? Baptisms of children Isaac and Catharine indicate they were residents of Ross at that time.
- Note: Mary Hagarty; Marriage for Adam Hagarty the same date and church suggests they may have been brother and sister?

- Note: James Hagarty; Record from parish register

William Hagertie
M, #18567, b. before 1720, d. after 1772
Parents
Biography
- Birth: Before 1720; Ireland
- Marriage: Before 1740; Ann; Ireland
- Death: After 1772; Kilmeen parish, County Cork
- Note: Will probated in 1772 (Cork and Ross Wills index, 1548 - 1800), location Kilmeen parish
In March 2014, I was sent the following extract of a will (PC), from Albert Casey: O'Kief, Coshe Mang, Slieve Lougher and the Upper Blackwater in Ireland Vol. 14.
"Cork Will of Samuel Doherty, of Coolnaconnaught, parish of Kilmeen [note that the seanruad website identifies a townland "Coolnaconarty" in Kilmeen parish]. Wife Jane, Eldest son James, son William, dau Eliz. Mother-in-law Ann Haggartie. Executors Rev. Isaac Watkins of Kilmeen, Mr William Haggertie, Saml Doherty could not sign above being blinded by smallpox. (Noncuperative) 25 Sep 1762; pr. 13 Feb 1765."
This suggests to me that the three Doherty children were underage, which fits with the marriage of 1757. This record is among a set of records for Myross.

James Heagerty
M, #18570, b. before 1775
Parents
Biography
- Birth: Before 1775; Ireland
- Note: There was a James Heagerty of Kilkerranmore Parish in the Flax Growers' List, published in 1796. In 1796 the Irish Linen Board published a list of almost 60,000 individuals who had received awards for planting a specified acreage of flax. Those who planted one acre were awarded 4 spinning-wheels, and those growing 5 acres were awarded a loom. (http://www.alphalink.com.au/~datatree/wolfs17.htm) This could be a good candidate for the father of Adam Haggarty, whose eldest son was named James; and of Marmaduke who is listed in Woodfield on both the Tithes and the Griffiths. If so he was probably also the father of Mary (who was married at St Finbarre's the same day as Adam) and of James who married Ellen Howell at St finbarre's two years later.

Catherine Poole Dwyer
F, #18573, b. 1854, d. 7 June 1908
Parents
Biography
- Birth: 1854; County Cork, Ireland
- Death: 7 June 1908; Clonakilty, County Cork
- Note: Marriage record indicates Catherine was a farmer's daughter from Moulbrack [Maulbrack], which appears to be about 1 km north of Skibbereen. Age 50 in 1901; 57 on 2nd quarter 1908 death registration (seems the death date I was given must be incorrect--death registered before she actually died? perhaps a typo or transcribing error? I suspect the month and day were interchanged, and death date should be 7 June, rather than 6 July). Tombstone gives dates as 1854 to 1908.
- Note: John Sean Seamus Hegarty; Marriage registration, Bandon District, Vol 20, p. 7.--date uncertain--May 10 or October 5? Witnesses were William and Honora Dwyer.
