  • Note: In 1901 John 42 and Annie 39 were enumerated in the household of her parents, John and Mary Mounsey, in Tipperary, Ireland. John's occupation is said to have been "Traveller for beer," and their religion was Church of Ireland. Both of the senior Mounseys were born in England. Their childen, Francis, Kathleen and William, ages 9, 7 and 3, were listed in a household in Eccles, Lancashire, with a 17-year old servant.
    1911 census: John, age 52, was a Brewer's Agent, living at 6 Park Ave., Eccles, Lancashire, England
  • Note: Anne Mounsey; In 1911 had been married for 20 years; marriage reg'd Nenagh 3rd qtr 1890.

    Rose Patterson, 94, of Anthon died Saturday, March 4, 1995, at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa. Services were held at the United Methodist Church in Anthon with Pastor Walter Bernard officiating. Burial followed in the Correctionville Cemetery under direction of Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home, Anthon. Mrs. Patterson was born October 11, 1900, in Warwickshire, England, the daughter of David and Mary (Timson) Bennett. She came to the U.S. in 1913 with her family and lived in the Anthon area. She married George Patterson March 28, 1923, in Sioux City. The couple lived on the family farm in the Anthon area. He died May 13, 1960. She moved to the care center in 1985. Mrs. Patterson was a member of the United Methodist Church in Anthon, United Methodist Women, and McNiff Post 389, American Legion Auxiliary of Anthon. Survivors include a son, Wayne and his wife Alta of Anthon, three daughters, Margaret Scharnweber of Ankeny, Mary Homolka of Omaha and Mrs. Donald (Maria) Bolen of Westland, Michigan, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, two sister and one grandson.

    Obit in The Correctionville News, 29 December 1999, page 4:
    Wayne George Patterson, 69, died Wednesday, December 15, 1999, at Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 18, at the United Methodist Church, Anthon, Iowa, with Pastor Kent Kastler officiating. Pallbearers were Scott Bolen, Steve Bolen, Bruce Fick, James Rickert, Allen Maguire, and David Siefke. Burial was in the Correctionville Cemetery under direction of Armstrong Funeral Service. Wayne George Patterson was born May 5, 1930, at Anthon, Iowa, the son of George and Rose (Bennett) Patterson. He attended Miller Center country school. Wayne lived and farmed on the same farm his entire life. In September 1954 he married Alta Fick at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mapleton, Iowa. He was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Anthon. He loved to raise cattle and restore old farm machinery. He especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, two daughters and their husbands, Karen and David Bumsted of Westfield, Iowa, and Carol and Steve Brown of Anthon, Iowa; four grandchildren, three sisters, Margaret Scharnweber of Ankeny, Iowa, Mary Homolka of Omaha, Nebraska, and Maria Bolen and her husband Donald of Lakewood, Colorado, along with many relatives, neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Robert Wayne.

  • Note: Birth reg'd 1876, Cork district; known as Kingston. In 1899 Kingston and George are listed in the city directoryfor St. Paul, Minnesota, where they were both employed as clerks. From 1900 onward both were in Minneapolis and worked in printing and/or paper companies. By 1904 Kingston was president of the company. His death was registered in Hennepin County, Minnesota (Minneapolis is in Hennepin).

Lillard Hanson Carson

  • Note: In 1900 Lillard was 14 and living with his widowed mother, Mary E. Facemeye, 46, in Fullerton, California. He was one of two children. In 1910 he was a servant living in Long Beach. He registered for the WW I draft 12 September 1918, at which time he owned a market in Long Beach. Not found in 1920 census, but in both 1930 and 1940 he is married to Marion. The Long Beach city directories show him as single in 1924 and married in 1926.
