Howard Edward Panschow

M, #1692, b. 17 August 1895, d. 27 November 1952

Parents

Biography

  • Birth: 17 August 1895; Chicago, Illinois
  • Death: 27 November 1952; Cook County, Illinois
  • Note: In 1910 Howard was 14 years old and lived with his parents. He registered with the draft on June 2, [presumably 1916? year not stated] at the age of 21. He reported that he lived at 3223 Clifton in Chicago, that he was married and was requesting exemption due to his physical condition and the fact that he was the sole support of his wife. He was a bank clerk with the Continental Commercial Bank. He was of medium height, slender build, had brown eyes, dark brown hair, "trouble with feet - arches & corns" and "stomach."
In 1920 Howard was a salesman; he and his wife Mary were residents of Ward 23, Chicago--that census was recorded 13 January 1920. Six months later he married another woman in Michigan--was he a bigamist? or what happened to Mary between January and July?
Howard Panschow was the informant recorded on the death certificates of both Charles and Margaret. Note: Ancestry.com index for the 1930 census lists him as "Panschon," although the image of the actual census page clearly looks like Panschow. In 1930 Howard was a conductor on the street railway. He rented an apartment at 4001-07 Menard Ave in Chicago for $50. per month. He listed his mother as being Canadian-French! When his father and mother died in 1933 and 1934 his address was 4821 No. Kildare Ave., Chicago.
Howard again registered for the draft in 1942; address still on North Kildare. He was a conductor with the "Chicago Surface Lines." He was 5'10", weighed 190 lbs, had brown hair and eyes.
Death record #6009842 from Cook County Online . Neither birth nor marriage records available there.
I have found no evidence of any children.
