Peter TUNBRIDGE was born about 1805. He married Jane O’HARA on 5 January 1840 in Anglican Church of St. Luke, La Prairie, Quebec, CanadaG.2 He died on 26 August 1854, at age ~49, in Co. Galway, IrelandG.3 He was buried on 27 August 1854 in Ballinrobe Church Of Ireland, Co. Mayo, IrelandG.4
Peter Tunbridge was a Corporal in the 66th Regiment in Quebec in January 1840. He was recorded the following in year, in February 1841, as a Private in the 67th Regiment quartered at Chambly. In 1843 and 1846 he was recorded as a Private in the 89th Regiment in Canada.. He received a pension of 1 shilling on 3 Oct 1851 for his service in the Canadian Rifles, and the pension record notes his death on 26 Aug 1854.
He is assumed to be the person of the same name whose burial was recorded in Ballinrobe in 1854, aged 49.
He is assumed to have been the eldest son of Courtney Tunbridge and Elizabeth.5,3,4

Jane O’HARA was born about May 1823.2 She married Peter TUNBRIDGE, son of Courtney TUNBRIDGE and Elizabeth RICHARDSON, on 5 January 1840 in Anglican Church of St. Luke, La Prairie, Quebec, CanadaG.2 Jane O’HARA died on 7 April 1846, at age ~22.2 She was buried on 9 April 1846 in Quebec Garrison, CanadaG.2
Jane O’Hara was the daughter of J. O’Hara, a Sergeant in the 66th Regimnent in 1840. According to her burial record, she was 22 years and 11 months old when she died in 1846.3

Biography

Catherine Grace ROBINSON was born about 1866 in Co. GalwayG. She married Thomas CAMPBELL on 16 March 1886 in St. Peter’s Church of Ireland, DublinG.1 She died on 26 May 1904, at age ~38, in Swan’s Nest, Raheny, IrelandG.2
Catherine Grace Robinson is assumed to be the daughter of James Robinson and Ellen Fitzpatrick on the basis of a newspaper report describing her son W.A. Campbell as the nephew of Mrs. Sheirson of Woodlawn. The unusual choice of Robinson as a given name for one of her children lends support to this. Her father was named as James Robinson, Constable R.I.C. on her marriage certificate.

She was living at Sallymount, Newbridge, Co. Kildare at the time of her marriage in 1886. She was recorded in the 1901 census at Swan’s Nest, Howth, and described as Catherine Campbell, aged 35, Housekeeping. She was enumerated with her daughters Ethel (aged 11), Catherine (9), Gertrude (5) and Victoria (3), and her sons Thomas (14), George (12), William (7) and Robinson (1).

There is some uncertainty about her date of birth. The 1901 census gives her age as 35, and her death certificate in 1904 as 33, giving her years of birth as 1866 and 1871 respectively, but no birth registrations have been found. It is possible that she is actually Catherine Robinson baptised on 5 May 1861 in Athenry to James and Ellen.3,4

Thomas Campbell was the son of Thomas Campbell, a servant. He was living at 24 Fitzwilliam Place at the time of his marriage in 1886. He was recorded in the 1901 and 1911 censuses as a Butler in the household of Harriette Helen Law at Kilbarrack House, Swan’s Nest, Howth.2,3
