Mrs. Edna Pearl Arnold, wife of William M. Arnold, Lynhurst Crescent, died at the Memorial Hospital, Monday morning, following a month's illness.
Born in Caradoc township, Middlesex county, 60 years ago, Mrs. Arnold came to St. Thomas to live 45 years ago. She was widely known in the Lynhurst district and most highly respected. She was a valued member of First United Church.
Survivng are her husband, William Arnold, of Lynhurst; two daughters, Ida Hazel Arnold and Verlyn Arnold, both at home; a son, Alfred Arnold of 228 Talbot street, St. Thomas; her mother, Mrs. Ida Caves, 47 St. Anne's place, St. Thomas; a sister, Mrs. Samuel Beckett, 180 Alma street, St. Thomas; and two brothers, Charles Caves, 47 St. Anne's place, and Harry Caves, 1 Malakoff street, both of St. Thomas.
Resting at the P.R. Williams & Son funeral home where the funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Interment will be made in the St. Thomas Cemetery.

Mrs. Edna Caves of 47 St. Anne's Place, St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, Nov 11, 1979, in her 73rd year, after a short illness.
Born in London July 23 1907 Ont., daughter of the late Charles and Annie (Clark) Bolton, she had resided in the St. Thomas area most of her life. Mrs. Caves was a member of First United Church St. Thomas.
Surviving are her husband Charles Caves; two sons George Caves of St. Thomas and David Caves of Orwell; one daughter Mrs. James (Nan) Balkwill of St. Thomas; one brother, Wilbert Bolton and one sister, Colleen Cutler, both of St. Thomas. Also surviving are seven grand children.
The family will receive friends at the R. E. Allen Funeral Chapel 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas, where the funeral service will be held in the chapel, Tuesday at 1 p.m. Rev.. Donald Parsons of First United Church officiating. Interment will be made in Elmdale Memorial Park.
Donations to the Ontario Heart Foundation of the Canadian Cancer Society as expressions of sympathy would be appreciated by the family.
