6 He was buried in South Park Street Burial Ground, Calcutta, India.
7 John Meredith was high sheriff of Co. Meath. He was knighted in May 1783 and was created Baronet of Carlanstown on 26 Jul 1795. He lived at Carlanstown and in 1794 he was also recorded as living at Gardiner's Place. He travelled to Bengal on the ship Criterion, leaving Gravesend on 26 May 1799 and arriving in Calcutta on 12 October, but died there just over two weeks later.
