1 Adam Meredith was the eldest son. He was appointed Clerk of the Council, Munster Presidency on 11 May 1643. He was mentioned in British House of Commons Journal on 22 Feb 1644/45 as "the Petitioner for the exchange of his father presently a prisoner in Ireland with Colonel Smyth now a prisoner to the Parliament." On 5 Oct 1646 he published a pamphlet "Ormonds curtain drawn" attacking Ormond. He was killed in battle in 1647.
