Barry Colles MEREDYTH
M, #280, b. about 1749, d. 14 October 1813
Parents
Biography
Barry Colles MEREDYTH was born about 1749.
1,2 He and
Elizabeth EASTWOOD were married on 14 July 1770.
3 He died on 14 October 1813, at age ~64, in Dublin, Ireland.
4,1,5 Barry Colles Meredyth assumed the title of 7th Baronet of Greenhills in 1808 on claiming that he was the lineal descendant of the first Baronet, William Meredith, through William’s alleged son Richard. In fact William Meredith died childless and the baronetcy became extinct; Richard was his nephew, the son of William’s brother Robert Meredith. Neverthless, the title was passed down from descendants of Barry Colles Meredyth until it was disallowed in 1904 at the death of hid grandson Edward Henry John Meredyth.
He lived at Clonegown, King's County, Ireland and in 1806 was recorded as living at Broadstone House, near Dublin, Ireland.
