- Note: Carol Tanner Jones has birth month as October; Frances Tanner has November. This family was living in Enniskillen Tp, Lambton County, Ontario in 1891 and 1901. The 1901 census gives birth date as 27 October, 1849. The 1891 census indicates James was born in Ireland, but the 1901 census says Ontario. If the parents were married in Canada, as seems likely givent hat Elizabeth was from county Longford, then I don't think any of their children would have been born in Ireland.

Obituary from Regina "Leader Post", December 1972: Tuesday, Dec. 12, 1972, Mr. William Tanner, late of Parkside Nursing Home, passed away at the age of 90 years. Predeceased by his parents and one sister, the late Mr. Tanner is survived by his sister, Mrs. Annie G. Gordon of Calgary, Alta. The funeral service will be conducted from the Helmsing-Bremner Funeral Chapel, 2210 College Ave. at Cornwall St., on Thursday, Dec. 14 at 11 a.m., with the Rev. M.B. Banting officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park.
