John Stout
M, #19493, b. May 1830, d. 30 April 1908
Parents
Biography
- Marriage: About 1868; Ann; New York
- Death: 30 April 1908; New York
- Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery, Rochester, NY
- Note: John lived in Rochester, NY. In 1870 and in 1875. His occupation was Quarryman. In 1880 John "Stouts" was a laborer, living with his two sons--no wife. In 1892 he was age 61, living with 3 younger Stouts whose first names are not legible, aged 20, 13 and 9. 1900 John and his son John were living together, both listed as stone masons, and both said to be married but no sign of their wives? John Sr had been married 34 years. He had been in the USA since 1865.
On several of these censuses the Stouts were listed on the same page as the Tanner/Haggerty family--they must have known one another earlier.
His wife Ann was born in Canada and his eldest son was Nicholas, age 6, born Monroe County NY--must be related to our Stouts!
Probably the John Stout buried in Mount Hope, age 80, cause of death senility, resided Bronson Ave, Rochester.

Rochester, Monroe, NYUnion & AdvertiserFri May 21, 1858ANOTHER MUTUAL ADMIRATION SOCIETY - As near as we can make out from the papers, it appears that one Judge AVERY, (a bachelor), of Flint, Michigan, formerly of Tioga county, New York, and Marion Ira STOUT, formerly of the county aforesaid, now in Rochester Jail under sentence of death for wilful murder, have formed a Mutual Admiration Society. The society is now full, and no other members can be admitted until one is murdered or hung, as the case may be.
There are lots more, but need to be more familiar with our names before can do this intelligently.
