Adam Hagerty
M, #15456, b. about 1832, d. 1902
Parents
Biography
- Birth: About 1832; County Cork, Ireland
- Death: 1902; Bandon, County Cork
- Note: Believed to have been a shoemaker, probably from the Clonakilty shoemaker Hagerty family. The only baptism I found in the Ballymodan register for Adam's children was Rebecca. In the 1901 census Adam Hegarty, 60, shoemaker, said to be born in Antrim (this cannot be correct) was a lodger in the home of Rebecca Knowles, widow, age 60. Hannah, Adam's wife, was said to be Presbyterian and was living in the Bandon Workhouse. Some of the records for this family are in Bandon and others in Clonakilty. Bandon death registration for Adam Hegarty 2nd qtr 1902, age 69, probably this man.
- Note: Hannah Riordan; Marriage license record indicates Adam's father was John--possibly John Heagerty, born 1787? Hannah's father was also named John.

Hannah Riordan
F, #15457, b. about 1832
Biography
- Birth: About 1832; Cork, Ireland
- Burial: 13 January 1912; Ballymodan Parish, Bandon, County Cork
- Note: 1834 Bandon Protestant census has Rebecca, John (age 15) and Hannah Riordan living in the same house as the family of Joseph Brangan.
Probably the Hannah "Hargerty" in the Bandon Workhouse in 1901 census, age 68, Presbyterian, married, shoemaker's wife and unable to read; not listed in 1911 census. However, in 1901 on Grand Parade in Cork city (Holy Trinity parish) there was also a listing for a Hannah Hegarty, widow, age 70, caretaker with son George age 30 and daughter Mary Ellen age 31. When looking at the House and Building return page, it appears that Hannah may have been employed as caretaker in a building, but was not an occupant of the building. I suspect these two records are both for the same woman. The Cork city record indicates she was born in Bandon.
Hannah "Hegarty" was a resident of the Bandon Union Workhouse at the time of her death in 1912, aged 90.
- Note: Adam Hagerty; Marriage license record indicates Adam's father was John--possibly John Heagerty, born 1787? Hannah's father was also named John.

Patrick Clarke
M, #15461, d. 31 October 1845
Biography
- Death: 31 October 1845; Ireland
- Note: "Whereas the late Patrick Clarke, Esq. of South-hill, county of Tipperary, was barbarously murdered, on the said lands of South-hill, about the hour of Three o'Clock in the afternoon of the 31st of October, by some person or persons at present unknown." A reward of £470 was offered 3 November, 1845, by: John Vincent, Leeson-street, Dublin; William Roe, J. P., Rockwell, Cashel; Charles Clarke, J. P., Graignoe Park, Thurles; Robert Clarke, J. P., Portarlington, King's County; Sir John Clarke, Tipperary: Mark Clarke, Clk., Shronel, Glebe; James Sadleir, Brookville, Tipperary; John Hare, Esq., 25, Upper Fitzwilliam-street, Dublin; Richard Butler, Castlecomer; Wm. H. Reveli, Ballymoney; Arthur Disney Walsh, M. D., County of Kerry; James Willington Walsh, M. D., Lorrah; B. H. Banner, Clk., Rectory, Bansha."
Suggests that Patrick must be related to the Portarlington Clarkes?

Martha Greenham
F, #15463, b. about 21 June 1829, d. 4 February 1907
Parents
Biography
- Birth: About 21 June 1829; Ireland
- Death: 4 February 1907; Guelph, Ontario
- Note: Odlum family on internet says Martha was a daughter of Thomas and Frances. If so, then some confusion re: birth dates of either Martha or Elizabeth?
Age 38 in 1871, 52 in 1881, 60 in 1891, 71 in 1901. Birth year was transcribed as 1830, but to me it appears to be 1826.
In 1881 Martha was a widow and she and her three children were living in Guelph. In 1891 Martha and a Fanny Greenham, aged 59 are living with Martha's son "J. Samuel" [John Samuel] on a farm in Eramosa tp.
In 1901 she is back in Guelph (perhaps she was visiting her son in 1891?) and living alone. It gives a birth date of 21 June 1830, which I think must be in error. May have been same date in 1828 or 1829? It also says she came to Canada in 1855.

Samuel Ridgeway
M, #15464, b. about 1820, d. 20 July 1878
Parents
Biography
- Birth: About 1820; Ballydermott, Kings county, Ireland
- Death: 20 July 1878; Peel county, Ontario
- Burial: 21 July 1878; Fergus, Ontario
- Note: The Griffiths Valuation for Kings county shows records for Samuel Ridgeway in three parishes: Clonsast, Geashill and Ballykean. Ballydermott is in Clonsast parish.
A genealogy of the Odlum family shows Samuel as the son of John Ridgeway and Charlotte Clarke (Charlotte in turn is the daughter of William Henry and Margaret Clarke
In 1861 Samuel was in Eramosa tp, Wellington county, occupation "Gentleman." In 1871 they are still in Eramosa, Samuel is listed as a farmer.
Ontario death registration #11?68: Samuel Ridgeway age 58, born "Ballydermott, Kings county, Ireland," "Drowned in the River Credit in the township of Chinguacousy," Peel county. Informant was Rev. Donald Strachan of Eramosa tp who reported: "He was buried at Fergus on the 21st July 1878, but I conducted the religious service at his late residence on E. 1/2. Lot 6. Con. 2. Tp. Eramosa-signed Donald Strachan."
There was a marriage between a Samuel Ridgeway, Gentleman, and Catherine Smith in St Andrew's Church, Dublin, September 1851. That Samuel's father was Henry, also a Gentleman--probably same family?
