• Note: 1901 census: age 21, occupation warper; Church of Ireland. 1911 census age 36, occupation linen winder, Episcopalian; married for 14 years. In addition to his wife and children, a nephew, William Hegarty, a baker, born Glasgow, Scotland, age 14, was living in the household.
  James served in the Royal Irish Rifles regiment in the first World War and was killed in Oct 1918, age 41. He was buried in Belgium.

  No death registration found suggesting she died after 1921 when Derry became part of Northern Ireland?

  Naturalized 2 October 1883, at which time he resided at 375 Dorchester St., SS. Boston.
  When son Edward's birth was registered Adam's occupation was Janitor. Died in hospital 19 June 1905 of inhaling ammonia fumes following an explosion the previous day. His occupation was listed as engineer.
  1930 census listing for son Reuben indicates Adam was born in "South Ireland," presumably meaning the republic--perhaps Cork?

California, sailing from the West Indies to New York in 1926, confirms birthdate as 13 Nov. 1882; also sailed from Cherbourg, France to New York in 1927 on S.S. Berengaria.
