Note: Marriage record indicates Thomas was a shoemaker of Rosscarbery. Trade of shoemaker suggests a connection with the Clonakilty families--another bit of support for notion that Rosscarbery and Clonakilty are a single family.
1901 Census Timoleague: Thomas, 55, bootmaker, Ch of I, both Irish and English languages, wife and 3 children in household. In 1911 his age is given as 76, and I think this is more likely to be correct. It is consistent with the best fit with death registrations: Thomas Hegarty death registered Clonakilty district, Q4, 1918, Clonakilty registration district. The two eldest daughters, died 1873, were both buried 14 Sep 1873 in Kilmeen parish, where were said to be from Timoleague. However, birth registrations for Susanna and Marmaduke say they were born in Tullagh.

Bit of a bother here: the marriage record for Rev. Marmaduke Wolfe Hagarty says his father Thomas was a medical doctor--now that's a far cry from a bootmaker! Perhaps I am mixing up two different Marmadukes, both clergymen with father named Thomas? Highly unlikely! He was probably just putting on airs!

Note: shows a "Mamira Duke" born Nov 1871, Murragh parish, son of Thomas Hagarty and Anne Wolfe--seems likely to be this person? Inconsisstent with ages given on 1901 and 1911 censuses, suggesting there may have been one Marmaduke born 1871 and then died before 1875, when another child was named Marmaduke--I think this unlikely however.
1901 census, age 26, Church of England clergyman, unmarried, living in Timoleague with parents.
At the time of his marriage in December 1904 he was 27 and resided at 16 Hawthorne Terrace, occupation clergyman. Oddly, here his father Thomas is said to be a medical doctor? very odd!
In 1911 was married and living in Fernsholme, Walmersley Road, Bury, Lancashire, England. Marmaduke's birthplace listed as Desertserges, Cork, Ireland, age 36. (Desertserges parish is immediately adjacent to Murragh, and they were often served by the same rector,) Wife Millicent 29, born England; children Cecily Eileen 5 and Marmaduke Trevor 3. Marmaduke's sister Elizabeth Ann, 51, unmarried also in the household.
1929 Kelly's Directory of Manchester (image from ancestry,com): Rev. Marmaduke Hagarty, Rector of St George's; res: 183 Oldham Rd. Crockford's Clerical Directory, 1932, p. 542: T.C.D.., B.A. 1897; M.A. 1905.
Probate index (ancestry.com) for death record; wife Millicent survived him. He left an estate of 258 8s. 7d.
