Age 25 in 1841. In 1861 Andrew was the head of the household and was a farmer of 120 acres employing 7 labourers. His brother John and sisters Janet, Isabella and Betsy were in the household, along with 5 other young people aged 12 to 20. In 1881 Andrew was still unmarried, age 63, Occupation farmer (of 45 acres of which 86 arable employing 2 men 3 women and 1 boy). He resided at "Seater." In 1901 he was 83 and was the only Muir residing at Seater, where he was listed as the head of the household. There were 6 young men and women, aged 18 to 27, also at Seater.
