Note: Richard came to New Brunswick some time later than his brothers, in 1834. He probably died before 1871, as his wife was living with their son Matthew at that time. I think this is probably the Richard who married Mary Ann Payne in Ballymodan 23 February 1807.

Note: Donald Parrott says that Mathew came to New Brunswick at the age of 5, in 1834, and that the Hickson family, including his future wife, came on the same ship. However, the 1871 census says Mathew was 42 years old, born in New Brunswick, Methodist and a farmer.
Matthew lived to be 75 years of age. He farmed on Lot # 24 (200 acres) left to him by his father.

Note: In the 1871 New Bandon census Richard is said to be 40 years old, born in New Brunswick, Church of England, Irish and a farmer (Gloucester county, New Bandon District). In 1881 he was a stonecutter and farmer, aged 40 and Elizabeth 27 (?). This is the only New Brunswick Parrott family in the 1881 census CD as extracted by the LDS. In 1901 Richard was said to have been born in 1828. Burial record indicates he was 76 when he died in 1907.

The birth order for three of the children may not be correct. The 1871 census gives the following ages: Edward W. 13, Matthew 11 and Frances 9.
