  Death registration (#25570) indicates he suffered from "Prostatic Hyportrophy" for 2 years and the immediate cause of death was cerebral hemorrhage, duration 2 hours; age 63, said to have been born in London? Informant was Bert Hagerty of RR 2, Newbury, Ontario.

  The 1901 census says that Joseph immigrated to Canada in 1872. The children who were born in Newfoundland immigrated to Canada in 1894. It appears that Joseph must have come to Canada, probably to Bonaventure, as his wife was evidently from there. At some point, prior to the birth of the eldest child, he moved to Newfoundland, returning to New Richmond in 1894.
