James MACEVOY and Theresa MEREDYTH were married on 14 August 1824 in St. Peter’s Church of Ireland, Dublin. He died in 1835.¹

James McEvoy was the son of Edward MacEvoy. He lived at Tobertynan, Co. Meath and Frankford, Co. Longford. His brother Francis MacEvoy was a distinguished surgeon.²

Charles William Cuffe BURTON was born on 13 January 1823 in Marylebone, London, England.^2,3 He and Georgiana Mary DALLAS were married on 15 December 1861 in St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England.³ He died on 2 October 1902, at age 79, in Pollerton, County Carlow, Ireland.^1,4

Sir Charles William Cuffe Burton, 5th Bt., was the son of Benjamin Burton and Grace Anne Roberts, and cousin of the Sir Charles Burton, 4th Bt. He succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Burton, of Dublin on 17 May 1842. He held the office of High Sheriff of County Carlow in 1851. He lived at Pollacton House, Pollerton, County Carlow, Ireland. His will (dated 6 July 1882) was probated, at £62,347. On his death, his baronetcy became extinct. Norton quotes the following from The Carlow Gentry: "The baronetcy, created for Charles Burton of Pollacton in 1758, became extinct after five generations with the death, aged 80, in 1902, of Sir Charles William Cuffe Burton. He suffered disabling injuries in a fall from a horse while on his way to a hunt meet on a frosty winter morning, and it was as a result of injuries sustained when he fell out of his wheelchair in the garden at Pollacton that he died."^3,4
