An earlier draft of the will from 1796 mentions other children Richard of Walton, Old Radnor, Edward, Samuel and Robert Urwick.1,2,3

The will of Edward Rogers was dated 10 Dec 1788 and proved on 22 Dec 1789. It begins: “My father not being sufficiently well enough to make a will in proper form requested me in the presence of my brother Thomas Rogers to set down what he would wish to have done”. It mentions

John Rogers was vicar of Shiffnal, and rector of Stirchley and Dawley, co. Salop. He was named as the eldest son in the will of Rev. Edward Rogers. He entered Balliol College, Oxford University on 1 Dec 1760, aged 16. He received his B.A. in 1764 and M.A. in 1768. He went to Stirchley as a curate to Edward Fosbrooke, in 1772 or earlier, and was instituted to the rectory in 1775 on the presentation of Sarah Atkis of Chester.
His will dated 24 Feb 1792 and proved 21 May 1792 mentions:

Biography

Rev. John ROGERS was born on 16 June 1817. He and Charlotte Victoria NEWBOLD were married on 27 October 1851.1 He died on 28 May 1878, at age 60.1
John Rogers lived at Home, Wentnor and later at Stanage Park. After attending school in Shrewsbury, he entered St. John’s College, Cambridge in 1836, receiving his B.A. in 1840 and his M.A. in 1844. He was Curate of Wentnor 1840-50, Vicar of Aymestry and Perpetual Curate of Leinthall Earles 1850-65, and Vicar of Stowe, Shropshire 1865-78.1

John Rogers of Wentnor, Shropshire, Gentleman, was recorded in the register of Oxford University Alumni as the father of Rev. Edward Rogers.
This John Rogers is assumed to be the son of John Rogers and Tabitha Corfield on the grounds that his son Rev. Edward Rogers is referred to in the will of his namesake the Rev. Edward Rogers of More, and Forton as a “cousin”. If on the other hand this John Rogers was a son Edward Rogers and Margaret Atkis the the two Rev. Edwards would be uncle and nephew.2

John Whitter was the son of Rev. Tristram Whitter, Rector of Tiverton, and his wife Ann. He was described as a linen draper of St. Ann’s Westminster in his father’s will of 1776.
