Her marriage announcemen appeared in the The Leader-Post, Regina on Monday, 3 Aug 1942 as follows:
“WINTERS—HASTIE
Wedding of Doris Mary, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Hastie, Biray, to William A. Winters, C.M, S.C., son of F.G. Winters, Saskatoon, took place August 1, at Westminster church manse. Dr. A.D Mackenzie performed the ceremony, and Mr. and Mrs R. A Goundry attended the bridal couple. The bride wore a queen’s blue wool suit with turban of white velvet and corsage of white carnations and roses. Mr. and Mrs. Winters will reside in Regina.”
Her obituary appeared in the Leader-Post 4-5 Dec 2007 as follows:
“WINTERS-Doris passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at the age of 88 years. She was predeceased by her husband, William "Bill " in 1983. Doris is survived by her two daughters, Margaret (John) Scratch and Barbara (John) Schepers; grandchildren, Sam (Lindsay), Emma (Tim), Kathleen (Mike), A.J. (Gabe) and Joe; great grandchildren, Bill and Emily, as well as many friends. At Doris' request cremation with a private family interment will be held. Friends are invited to remember Doris with her family between 4:00 6:00 P.M., Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the New Democratic Party of Saskatchewan Headquarters, 1122 Saskatchewan Dr., Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris' memory may be made to the Regina Humane Society or the New Democratic Party of Saskatchewan. Paragon Funeral Services entrusted with arrangements.”.
