Richard Urwick was a tanner of Montgomery. His will dated 21 Aug 1801 was proved on 1 April 1802. It mentions his wife Sarah, son Benjamin, daughter Mary, brother in law William Davies and his son John Davies, and John Davies of Marrington the deceased uncle of his son Benjamin. An earlier draft of the will from 1796 mentions other children Richard of Walton, Old Radnor, Edward, Samuel and Robert Urwick.

The will of Edward Rogers was dated 10 Dec 1788 and proved on 22 Dec 1789. It begins: “My father not being sufficiently well enough to make a will in proper form requested me in the presence of my brother Thomas Rogers to set down what he would wish to have done”. It mentions

2 John Rogers was vicar of Shiffnal, and rector of Stirchley and Dawley, co. Salop. He was named as the eldest son in the will of Rev. Edward Rogers. He entered Balliol College, Oxford University on 1 Dec 1760, aged 16. He received his B.A. in 1764 and M.A. in 1768. He went to Stirchley as a curate to Edward Fosbrooke, in 1772 or earlier, and was instituted to the rectory in 1775 on the presentation of Sarah Atkis of Chester.
His will dated 24 Feb 1792 and proved 21 May 1792 mentions:
- wife Ann Corbett
- brothers Edward, Thomas, Charles and William Rogers
- Edward Rogers, son of brother Charles
- John Whitter, brother in law
- godsons John Rogers Whitter, John Rogers Pitman and John Rogers of Kington
- brother’s daughter Mary Vanzoelen Rogers

- Samuel Sneade of Ludlow, clerk
- Mrs. Sarah Atkis, friend and patron
Note: - it is likely that the baptism date entered into the IGI is Old Style (i.e 1 Mar 1744 New Style), which is consistent with the marriage date of the parents and the matriculation date.

This John Rogers is assumed to be the son of John Rogers and Tabitha Corfield on the grounds that his son Rev. Edward Rogers is referred to in the will of his namesake the Rev. Edward Rogers of More, and Forton as a “cousin”. If on the other hand this John Rogers was a son Edward Rogers and Margaret Atkis the the two Rev. Edwards would be uncle and nephew.
