Note: Death registration records birth place as Kinsale. In 1880 he was living with his parents in Rockford, Illinois, age 20 and worked in a foundry. In 1910 he had been married 28 years and was employed as a moulder in a foundry. He was still a moulder, age 62 in 1920. Census records indicate he immigrated in 1870. In the 1919 city directory Abraham and Mary lived at 1835 Chestnut in Rockford; the 1923 directory shows both Abraham and Mary at 212 South Independencee St. In the 1920 census we also learn he was naturalized in 1887. In 1930 Abraham was a 72 year old widower and resident in the Winnebago County Home for the Aged in Rockford, Illinois.

Note: Age 54 in 1910; both of her two children were still living. Mary's parents were both born in Ireland. Marriage index when she married Abraham name her as "Mrs. Mary Clark Kennedy." Suspecting Clark was her maiden name, I then found a marriage between Mary Ellen Clark and Martin Kennedy, 4 January 1873, Winnebago. In 1880 Martin and Mary, both aged 25, were living with Martin's family, farming in Byron, Illinois. They had one child, George, born in March 1880.

Note: 1910 census, listed as George K. Hagerty, age 22, living with his mother and step-father and employed in a confectionary store. In 1920 he is listed as George M. Kennedy, still with parents. This man is a bit of a puzzle. In 1880 Martin and Mary had a son George who had been born in March that year. George Martin Kennedy's WWI enlistment forms and WWII draft registration form both give his birth date as 30 March 1888.
