     Susan ROBINSON was born on 31 January 1870 in Keenaghan, Emlafad, Co. Sligo, Ireland.¹ She married Robert SHEIRSON, son of George Charles SHEIRSON and Ellen JOHNSON, on 30 April 1901 in St. Matthias Church, Dublin, Ireland; He was of full age, a bachelor, Constable in the RIC, residence Gurteen, Galway, his father was George Sheirson, farmer. She was of full age, spinster, residence Woodlawn Galway, her father James Robinson RIC. Witnesses- Joseph White andThomas John Palmer, (both brothers-in-law).² She died in 1926.³

The house was listed as no. 2, Post Office, and described as 2nd class, having walls of stone, brick or concrete, a roof of slate, iron or tiles, with 2, 3 or 4 rooms, and 6 windows in front. 2 rooms were occupied. It had 1 outbuilding. The landholder was Lord Ashtown.

She appeared on the census of 7 April 1911 in the household of Robert Sheirson in Woodlawn, Kilconnell Parish, Co. Galway, Ireland, in which she was described as Susan Sheirson, wife, Church of Ireland, able to read & write, aged 39, a Sub-Postmistress, born in Co. Sligo, married for 9 years, with 6 children born alive and still living.^4,5

Tipperary, Ireland.¹ He married Anne GODSELL, daughter of James GODSELL, on 23 April 1849 in Golden Church, Relickmurry Parish, Co. Tipperary, Ireland; Witnesses: John Friday and Richard Godsell. He died on 25 May 1887 in Gurtussa, Co. Tipperary, Ireland.
     
James Barrer was resident in 1843 in Duntryleague, Co Limerick, Ireland. He was living Dundrum, Co. Tipperary, Ireland at the time of his marriage in 1849. He was resident in 1864 in Gurtussa, Co. Tipperary, Ireland until his death in 1887.

Although we have no record of his baptism, James is believed to belong to this family group, as no other family is known that matches the details on his two marriage certificates of age, father and residence. The R.I.C. service records of his sons Thomas and John also mention family connections in Co. Limerick. He named his children in a very similar manner to his brother George, indicating that they both used the Irish naming convention.¹

     Anne GODSELL was born circa 1824. She married James BARRER, son of Thomas BARRER and Jane HORE, on 23 April 1849 in Golden Church, Relickmurry Parish, Co. Tipperary, Ireland; Witnesses: John Friday and Richard Godsell. She died on 2 March 1916 in Gurtussa, Co. Tipperary, Ireland; aged 93, widow, farmer. Cause of death senile decay, cardiac failure, gradually, certified. Informant Edward Barrer of Gurtussa, son, present at death.

She was recorded in the 1911 census at Gortussa, Kilpatrick, Co. Tipperary, Ireland as the head of household. She was described as Anne Barrer, Church of Ireland, can read & write, Farmer, aged 88, widow, married 38 years, 9 children with 4 still alive, born in Co. Tipperary.¹

Tipperary, Ireland.¹ He married Margaret CARTER, daughter of Adam CARTER and Rebecca TAYLOR, on 18 February 1925 in Ballintemple Church, Co. Tipperary, Ireland; Witnesses: William Carter and Jane Carter. He died on 4 June 1958 in Ballintemple, Co. Tipperary, Ireland, at age 91.

     Thomas BARRER was born on 19 March 1864 in Gurtussa, Co. Tipperary, Ireland.¹ He was christened on 10 July 1864 in Ballintemple Parish, Co. Tipperary, Ireland.¹ He married Sarah Jane CHARD, daughter of Thomas Blake CHARD and Anne PAYNE, on 10 September 1889 in St. Thomas Church, Parish of Aran, Co. Galway, Ireland; witnesses: Thomas Chard, John Barrer.²
     
Thomas Barrer was a Sergeant in the Royal Irish Constabulary. He began his service with the Royal Irish Constabulary on 8 May 1882, and was transferred to Co. Galway WR, Ireland, on 12 September 1882. He was living Aranmore, Co. Galway, Ireland at the time of his marriage in 1889. He was transferred to Co. Tipperary NR, Ireland, on 14 November 1889. He was discharged from the Royal Irish Constabulary on 1 June 1907 after 25 years service, and received a pension.

He was enumerated in the 1911 census at Kilronan, Inishmore, Co. Galway, and described as a R.I.C Pensioner.

A Margaret Payne Stewart was enumerated in the same household and described as a widow, aged 80, born in Co. Kerry.^3,2
