His obituary appeared in The Gazette on Monday 8 Jan 1962 as follows:
“THOMAS, Eleazer. At Montreal, on January 5th, 1962, retired C.N.R. Engineer, beloved husband of the late Frances Modler, father of Albert and the late Harry. Funeral from D. A. Collins Chapel, 5610 Sherbrooke St. West, on Monday, at 2 p.m.. to Mount Royal Cemetery.”.
